The assist made Stamkos the 95th player in NHL history to reach 1,000 points and just the eighth active player to do so. Among those eight active players, Stamkos is only the fifth to do so in under 1,000 games. Stamkos did so in career game 945.

Steven Stamkos (@RealStamkos91) is in elite company as he becomes the fourth-fastest active player to hit the 1,000-point mark, achieving the feat in 945 games!

The adversity he has faced along the way makes the accomplishments of finally winning the Stanley Cup and reaching 1,000 points even sweeter.
Thursday’s milestone also comes as Stamkos is just six goals shy of 500 career goals, which will also surely be coming soon. The accomplishments just keep coming for the Lightning captain as he continues to re-write the franchise record books.
